Magazine Proposal

In my magazine proposal i was given Audience feedback about what i should choose to be my masthead, coverline, what colour schemes work and what doesn't work. overall he masthead chosen is Velvet as it associates with the genre of rock as it involves the mise en scene of the type of clothing they would typically wear. The Publisher chosen was Bauer media group as they have an international success from their other music magazines. The colour scheme that was most popular was the second one and the last one as they are typical rock colours and they contrast together well.

In my news stand coursework I learnt how to write my findings on how he music magazines are organised and placed in popular retailers like WH Smith. they are easy to pick up and take away and they are not a hassle to find. Also the magazines are published through many media social websites like facebook, twitter the links for this is on the bibliography part of my news stand.

Task 4- evaluation

In my evaluation I learnt how to improve my music magazine and what I should keep the same from what went well in my evaluation.The results from my survey monkey helped me decide these. What I would improve next time in my evaluation is I would use print screens capturing the results for reliability and reference.

media kit for kerrang

This media kit is from the kerrang music magazine and organisation. It shows that 43.3% of the readers a women and 54.7% f the readers are male. This shows that the magazine is mainly for females maybe from the choice of celebrities, features, and content.
The age range of this magazine is mainly 15-24 as 56.1% of the readers are mainly in this age group this shows that they also have features related to only this age.and that they wouldn't be appropriate for the ages younger or older. The lowest age group who read this magazine is 65+ this could also be from the appropriateness of the features and content.

This is the survey questions that my target audience answered in order for me to find out what i need to improve on in my actual final piece and what to keep the same again however these are very broad questions and are very easy for my target audience to answer as they are worded grammatically accurate and are suitable for my magazine production.

college contents page

This is my college contents page that i created for my college magazine. It is very similar and i would use a variety of images on my contents page to introduce the other pages and highlights of my magazine.I would use more pages than I have used here as a music magazine would typically be longer. To improve this for music magazine I would also use a different font and make the text a little smaller.

College magazine front cover

This is my front cover of my college magazine. I have used a bold masthead, skyline, cover lines, features and a bar code which all add to making it look realistic. I have used a main cover star image on my front cover as a background to make it blend in with the text effectively leaving no boring white spaces of the page. To improve this next time I would use a better image which is waist upwards and use a better colour scheme that goes better with the background image as well.

This is one of the pictures I used for my contents page in order for it to show hard working students in the college making the audience want to see how they can achieve which tells them what page they have to look at and read in order for that to be them. To improve this next time I would take the picture of them in a lirary hub or study to show that they give up their free time for work.

This is another image that I included on my contents page. This image is different from the other image as it show one hard working person showing that everyone can be a shining student even by themselves. The prop of the folder shows his work and him working concentrating on what is in front of him. To improve this next time I would again use another effective and convincing setting.

This is the picture I used on my front cover as the main cover star image. She is in front of the expressive arts stand showing what the college has to offer for our students.The prop of the folder again she is smart, well-motivated and sophisticated. To improve this time I would add some costume like a blazer adding to the maturity of the young adult.
